Flag artwork
- Input
- 201,580-byte CorelDRAW X3 file.
- Output
- One 309,296-byte SVG in under 0.1 s after the layout step.
CDR → SVG is the route out of CorelDRAW for people moving their artwork to Inkscape, Illustrator or a cutting plotter, with text arriving as outlines.
From real runs
| Element | Result | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Paths and fills | Kept | The coat of arms came through as editable SVG paths with its reds, golds and blues, ready to recolour in Inkscape. |
| Text | Changed | Text arrives as glyph outlines in the substitute font, not as editable text; retype headlines if the wording has to change. |
| Grouping and object names | Lost | CorelDRAW groups, layers and object names are not kept; the SVG is a flat list of paths per page. |
| Page area | Changed | Each SVG covers the full CorelDRAW page with a white rectangle behind the art; delete it for a transparent background. |
| File size | Changed | The flag became a 309,296-byte SVG against a 54,104-byte PDF, because SVG spells every coordinate out as text. |
| Multi-page files | Kept | The two-page song sheet became a ZIP of two SVG files, one per page. |

Yes, every shape is a path you can select, recolour or reshape. Text is outlined, so typing new words means replacing those paths with a new text object.
Usually, since everything is a plain path. Remove the white page rectangle first, or the machine may treat it as a cut line.
The conversion goes through a page layout step that flattens CorelDRAW layers and groups. Regroup in your editor, or export SVG from CorelDRAW if the structure matters.
