CSV to HTML creates a bare table element from one parsed CSV table, not a complete web page with CSS, scripts, captions, or responsive wrappers.
From real runs
| Element | Result | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Table structure | Changed | The output is a single table with thead and tbody sections, regardless of any filename or source metadata. |
| Header cells | Changed | CSV column names were written as th elements, while each data field became a td element. |
| HTML escaping | Changed | The quote characters in He said "Hi" were escaped as " inside the generated table cell. |
| Embedded newline | Kept | The newline inside Ada's note remained as text inside one td, so browser whitespace collapsing affects display. |
| Empty cells | Changed | Blank CSV values became empty td elements, and XML-style null markers are not introduced in HTML output. |
| Spreadsheet typing | Changed | Numeric and date inference happened before HTML rendering, so 02134 became 2134 and the date became an ISO timestamp. |

PYpandas writes a table fragment with its own defaults; style classes and responsive layout still need template work.
The HTTP API and the MCP server run the exact engine this page uses (Table engine); the response carries the same warnings the web converter shows. Check support first with GET /api/v1/pairs?from=csv&to=html.

No. The tabular writer returns a table fragment with thead and tbody. Add html, head, body, CSS, and accessibility captions in your site template.
Cell text is escaped before writing. In our run, the double quotes around Hi were emitted as ", so they did not become markup.
They become empty td elements. That is visually blank in a browser and does not distinguish a source blank from a parsed null.
