Do I need AI Vision credits?
Yes. Vision conversions cost 1 credit per page, require sign-in, and are not available to anonymous users.
Which model reads the file?
The OCR model is organization-configurable through the AI Vision setup; output quality depends on that configured model and source quality.
Will OCR recreate my layout exactly?
No. It preserves reading order and useful layout hints, but it does not recreate exact fonts, coordinates, or page design.
Can it read scanned PDFs?
Yes, scanned PDF pages are rasterized and processed as images, subject to page limits and credit availability.
Does it invent missing text?
No. The prompt instructs the model to mark unreadable regions as [illegible] rather than guessing.
