What you get — and what changes

  • Sheets Kept

The rich ODS PDF included Pipeline content and the Notes sheet text on separate pages.

  • Text values Kept

Company names, stage names, owner initials, and note text were extracted from the PDF output.

  • Formula cells Changed

The total rendered as 254500, which matches the cached value rather than the underlying formula.

  • Dates Changed

ODS date cells rendered as short dates such as 10/14/26 and 09/30/26 in the PDF text.

  • Column layout Changed

The ODS PDF kept close_date on the main table page in our rich run, unlike the legacy XLS PDF run.

  • Spreadsheet objects Lost

Cell editability, formulas, filters, sheet tabs, and comments are flattened into PDF rendering.

  • Fonts Changed

The PDF reflects our office engine's available fonts and page metrics rather than a user's desktop Calc setup.

OpenDocument Spreadsheet to PDF by API or MCP

The HTTP API and the MCP server run the exact engine this page uses (Office engine); the response carries the same warnings the web converter shows. Check support first with GET /api/v1/pairs?from=ods&to=pdf.

When this is the wrong conversion

  • Use /convert/ods-to-xlsx when the recipient needs editable rows in Microsoft Excel.
  • Use /convert/ods-to-csv when a system import needs plain rows from one sheet.

OpenDocument Spreadsheet to PDF questions

Will ODS formulas remain editable in the PDF?

No. Our office engine renders the calculated values, and PDF does not preserve spreadsheet formulas.

Does ODS to PDF include every sheet?

The tested workbook exported both the Pipeline and Notes sheets. Large workbooks should still be reviewed for intended print ranges.

Why do dates look different from the ODS file?

Our office engine applies its Calc formatting during export. In our run, full ISO source dates appeared as short date strings in the PDF.
