A real PowerPoint PPT → PDF run

We converted our PowerPoint PPT sample (449 KB) with Office engine on 2026-09-11. It took 360 ms and produced a 5 KB PDF file, 99% smaller than the input. The engine raised no warnings.

When this is the wrong conversion

  • Use /convert/ppt-to-pptx if the recipient must edit recovered slide objects after conversion.
  • Use /convert/pptx-to-pdf from the modern source deck when you can get it, because it avoids legacy binary import.

PowerPoint PPT to PDF questions

Can PPT to PDF produce a blank PDF?

Yes, it can when the old binary deck imports poorly. Our local PPT fixture generated a valid PDF page with no extracted slide text.

Are animations included in the PDF?

No. Our office engine exports the visible slide page state, not the click-by-click animation sequence from PowerPoint.

Will speaker notes be in the PDF?

Not in this API path. The export is slide-page oriented, so notes pages need a separate PowerPoint workflow.
